The Flame still lives in the Burning Bush

Pastor Paul H. Bush

 

Reverend Paul Hammond Bush is the seventh of nine children, born to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence & Mary Bush of Aiken, SC. He began public speaking at the age of 15, and became a Sunday School teacher, leading his own peers in the young adult class. 

 

In October 1983, Rev. Bush began in ministry. In 1986, he was called as pastor of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Barnwell, SC where he served as pastor for 8 years. There was tremendous growth under his leadership. He served 5 years as assistant pastor of the Old Rosemary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W. E. Davis and a brief time as assistant to Rev. Alfred Holmes at the Mt. Anna Missionary Baptist Church. 

 

In 1988, Rev. Bush was called as pastor of the Laura Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Clarks Hill, SC where he served faithfully for 22 years. Among his many accomplishments at Laura Grove was his final project to complete a 1.5 million dollar building in which to serve the members and the community of Clarks Hill Laura Grove became a model church for the South, through its community, street, and holistic ministry. In September 2010 Rev. Bush resigned from Laura Grove to begin a new season in life.

 

Rev. Bush has made several television appearances, commercials,and appeared as guest on various radio stations. There have been numerous articles, and profiles of his ministry in local newspapers. He conducts workshops at colleges throughout the state of South Carolina and Georgia. Rev. Bush has performed baccalaureate services, and appeared as a motivational speaker for many high schools and sport teams throughout the CSRA.

 

Rev. Bush is a graduate of Aiken High School. He has received a Master's Degree in Christian Psychology; a Bachelor's Degree in Divinity from Jacksonville Theological Seminary; a Certificate of Degree in "The School of The Prophets" from Lahairoi Bible College in Augusta, GA; an Associate Degree in Theology from Christian Life School of Theology in Columbus, GA and an Associate Degree in Human Services; with Certificates of Degrees in Criminal Justice and Alcohol and Drug Abuse from Aiken Technical College in Aiken, SC.

 

In 2007, Pastor Bush was awarded a plaque from the town of New Ellenton Action Team for the years of service, leadership, and humanitarian services he has provided to the community. He has received numerous awards from State Representatives, Senators, Mayors, and colleagues. His leadership, commitment, and love for what he does is matched by few. Over one hundred plaques, awards, resolutions, and proclamations are a testimony to his service to humanity.

 

On December 19, 2010 Rev. Bush married the former Ms. Michelle Page. There are four children to this union; Jantzen, Lorie, Jenai, and Bree. They also have six grandchildren: Raygan, Aiden, Trey, Zachariah, Maya, and Tyler.

 

On January 9, 2011 Rev. Bush was called as the Senior Pastor of the Mt.  Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Jackson, SC. He and his family are honored to be the first Family of such an historical and spirit filled church.

 

His ministry slogan is "The flame still  lives in the Burning Bush." His life's theme is "He that will be great among you must first become a servant of them all."
